New P-10. Slide stop issue?
« on: May 25, 2021, 09:14:20 AM »
I have a new P-10.  Over the weekend I tried putting a few mags down range and every few rounds the slide would lock back.  Is this normal with a new pistol?  If not, what should I do to fix this.  Before firing, I cleaned and lubricated it, and the rounds are just the standard 9mm Blazer brass rounds.

First, check your grip while shooting.
It's a chance you just run your finger over the slide stop/release.

Checked that.  The two other people I was at the range with tried as well and the same issue happened.  It is not always, and I'm not hitting the slide open.

My experience is even the slightest touch on the slide stop from any direction except down and it’ll do that.

I usually really notice it when slides won’t lock OPEN for me. Seems to be much worse on my Glocks but has happened a few times on my P10C.

Now my M&P 2.0 doesn’t do it because the slide release/stop part is in between where both my long skinny thumbs going forward won’t touch.
Go Figure!

Perhaps weak slide stop spring? Really hard to tell for me....

Feels solid to me.  I'm wondering if this is something with the ammunition or something.  My 75 will digest the absolute worst garbage, I didn't know if the P10 was the same.
