Hello fellow CZ enthusiasts.

I'm going to my first IDPA match and plan to use my P-09.  Do any of you have gear recommendations for reasonably good budget gear?  I'm not certain that I will be competing long term thing, so I'm looking more at entry level gear with budget pricing and will invest in higher end equipment down the road if I catch the bug.

I've already got a Kore Essentials belt that will be plenty stiff to use for the first few matches.  I'm mainly looking for a pistol holster, dual magazine holster, and anything else you recommend.

So far, I've identifed this Whole Guns IPDA holster.  They seem like they might be a newer outfit.  Not many reviews I could find.  But at least they're made in the USA.

I'm looking at this double magazine holster for the magazines.

If I do get a dedicated belt, I was looking at this one from Shooters Connection or this one.

What would you recommend?

I'm not a fan of double mag pouches, because you can't adjust spacing to your preference. Do you already carry? If so, you might consider shooting your first match with your carry gear.

Good advice from Earl about the double magazine carriers, as well as his suggestion to start with your EDC gear (if it exists).  Try two single mag carriers.  Kytex (not a misspelling) mag carriers are hard to beat for the money.  Blade Tech or Comp Tac both make great holsters suitable for IDPA and range use.

That’s good feedback on the mag carrier. I do AIWB carry, but want a 3:00 OWB rig for the match.  But I will be using my EDC BELT.

Thank you! I will try out the Kytex carriers instead. Much appreciated.

I’ll echo the recommendations for Kytex- I have those for many of my guns to include the P09/ P10 that I own.

My preferences is for leather holsters and have settled on Privateer Leather and Warbird Leather as my go to holster makers.  That said, kydex holsters are generally less expensive and quicker to get.  I like Krounds, but also have Blade tech.

You have a good gun to shoot idpa- I shot mine all season a few years ago and had a blast. It’s stock w/ only a FO front sight upgrade. Was and remain amazed at the low recoil the P09 provided in my matches.

Good luck and report back on your matches
