SIG collapsible brace or stock on Scorpion
« on: July 20, 2021, 06:29:47 PM »
Has anyone put on on a Scorpion using a 1913 tailpiece adaptor? Trying to figure out whether it could fit.

Here's what happened when I tried it on my gen1 scorpion I think it was. Sold it other day and it was the one with the loop on the reciever. Whatever gen that was lol. But I later put a sig rattler style brace on it and it worked great. But I think if I recall correctly.. even without the loop on the side.. I don't think it had enough room to fully fold up. Luckily I bought the stock at a local gun store and was able to return it

That's the one with full round style tube. They do make one with a rectangular looking tube that appears thinner that may fit. But I'd deffo ask around first and see what others have tried. Maybe try the sig forums and see if anyone there with that stock also owns a scorp and can try it? Good luck

Terrible.  Now that explains why they came out with the flat and thinner brace.

Yep. If ya look close it's the actual knuckle hitting first. Then even if it was thinner the stock would hit soon after that. The other Rattler style hinge knuckle swings out wider and allows more clearance. If I still had the scorp I'd take better pics sorry. These photos I had by sheer luck lol. I'll photo my Rattler one tho real quick and show the difference.  I own two. One on a MP-57. other is on an MPX. As u see it sticks out and swings wider on the Rattler hinges. U can buy these hinges separately btw. And attach whatever brace u prefer to them. So long as they're what I call the "single screw hole type".. some have two. But you'll want a brace arm that has a single hole. I like the Sig ones cause I can attest that they do have a good positive detent that keeps them shut. And not flop around like a you know what lol. They can also be flipped around to fold on either side of the gun. Pretty good system

Only drawback is the cuff spins around lol. Some I hear put a small set screw in them to keep it from doing so. Haven't made my mind on how best to deal with that yet. May just get a tailhook cuff for them both. Even glue may work.

Gearhead Werks make what they refer to as the "Sig fix" which is an adapter that allows you to take the Sig cuff off and use a Tailhook and it doesn't spin like the OEM cuff does. After taking the cuff off it seems you could also pop the cap off that covers the attachment screw for the cuff and add a washer to take up the space designed to let the cuff move.

I’m actually asking about the collapsible stock rather than the folding ones, although it’s interesting to hear about those, too.

This one:

Oh yeah those won't work. Tried that too. It kinda will. But only if u clip it really high up on top slot of pic rail. And by doing so it makes it really flimsy and goofy looking. I'll show ya when I get off work. But my mpx etc have slots on the reciever that permit those rails to slide back n forth. Scorpion is too fat to fit between them basically

But if u want to experiment with the idea for cheap. Academy sells a sig mpx air gun. And it has one of those on it. But made of flimsy plastic. But it's to proper scale tho etc. For 30$ or so u can get one to try out on things with. It's what I did

Here ya go. I plan to buy a real one soon. But this has proven handy just for testing. And ya get a free little airsoft mpx to plink with too lol. Not shabby for the price [emoji16]

I ordered the JMac adapter to put a folding MCX stock on my Scorpion.  I just have not found a MCX stock yet...
