Shadow 2 @ 25 yards
« on: July 21, 2021, 07:21:53 PM »
This was with me standing, shooting 1-2 second splits.  Some tight groups give me hope I can improve.  Focusing on improving my stance and keeping a good target focus.  I'd like to get a whole 19rd mag within the 9 ring.

That looks great to me at that speed!

Looks like all you need to do is work on the trigger release timing a little on those few shots that were a little high right and you are there.  You might have to take only another quarter second or so to let the sight settle to get those in the 9 ring, perhaps?

There are other folks here that can give you much better suggestions than me.  Slow is easier.  I know 2-4 second splits, and can barely handle 2 second.   :)

Practice with the dot torture test or doubles drill. Increase the distance once you hit all the targets at the required time and distance and move back to the closest distance you started if you miss one.

Just be prepared to use a LOT of ammo. Better yet, dry fire exercises with a penny or empty case on top of your slide. Squeeze the trigger as quickly as you can or set a par time of 1.0 second per shot if you have a timer. Gradually  decrease your par time as you improved. Then go to the range for live fire and check if your dry fire practice enabled you to shoot quickly and accurately. Note anything you noticed and make necessary changes to your dry fire regimen.

Bit of an improvement, 16 of 19 within the 9 ring @ 25 yards. I think I'm starting to figure out the fliers a bit better.  I think I'm stalling on the break of the trigger, then flinching.  I'm going to do dry fire practice to smooth out my pull.
