Ideal ammunition for the Bren 2 MS 5.56x45 "pistol"?
« on: August 31, 2021, 03:04:31 PM »
Ive got a new Bren 2 MS 14" "pistol" on the way and Im curious what 5.56x45 ammunition you all have found to give the best performance? Are there bullet weights that work best? Are there bullet weights I should avoid?

With the cost of ammunition still being so high, I figured Id run this question past you guys rather then spend a fortune on trial and error.

Its a 1/7 twist rate so it will favor heavier grain. However, with current prices cheapest wins. Mine feeds steel casings fine.

55gr reloads have done quite well in mine. I did find it didn't like M-855 62 grain steel core very much, but not enough not to at least have "minute of felon" at 200 yards. I haven't really tried out a whole lot of different types as I got mine right before the panic, and ammo kind of dried up a wee bit.

My original 805 pistol has shot everything well!
55 grain, 62 grain, 77 grain - it's one helluva rifle
But, then again a good weapon SHOULD shoot anything you feed it.
Reminds me of the newer P Series Sigs now a dayslol
People say oh it needs to be broken in ( same bullchit as a 1911 )
Or, it doesn't like winny white box lol....what a Joke!
That w.german p220 I had ate everything in its site and never once malfunctioned.
And, the same can be said for 1911's from what I understand.
This 500 round break in is a joke from what I understand
I asked a Custom 1911 maker what he thought about that and he laughed. He said that was just some makers trying to cover their butt.  He said either they run or they don't run!!
I've found this to be true. Most 1911 I've had ran flawlessly.
