Thanks, I don’t worry too much about weight. At least the weight of the rifle. Full mags get heavy quick. That said, my VZ58 feels light to hold and use compared to many of my other rifles. With the way it’s setup, it works well under 50yds. Twin pistol grips, trigger work, laser and the surprisingly effective muzzle brake make a big difference. It’s not my Scorpion micro in close but it’s not too far off. I shoot it regularly at 300yds suppressed too with excellent results. This is my first Vertex glass, I’m normally a Burris snob, and it’s really nice to use.
I’m confident if something fails, it’ll be me, not the VZ58.

I use mine as a SHTF rifle. Or I will until my G36K build is finished. Both have their pros and cons. The Vz makes for an excellent camping gun or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. rifle too, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Believe  S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is in reference to a video game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

InRange posted a LARPing video on the subject that included a Vz58:

Yes, and my Czechpoint is superb. But now and then.... let's not forget the Other 99.9% of truly deadly SHTF:

If you ignore any physical symptoms (which I did)  :-[ such as becoming short of breath etc, ----------- caused by unknown, but extremely deadly cholesterol build-up ,
you also will have a SHTF Day (5%-10% survival) .....

My Cardiologist, two days before, had no 'slot' for any treadmill test >> Not on very Short notice << (pay attention to the exact context here)...
....... with no way to quickly detect an imminent heart attack when you have an excellent pulse. My doctor is in Germantown TN.

SKS!  8)       ;) The SKS rifle in my car the day I suddenly felt Very sick was of No Use (on I-40, Bartlett TN). Being already sort of near a hospital, and being advised -- only because my wife answered her phone -- to Drive to the hospital E.R. prevented my SHTF from killing me. Literally.

Tell a few people if something changes in your physical activities, breathing etc.

* If you pay attention to, and report fairly subtle changes, then Yes, a VZ-58 would be perfect for a total shutdown of your electrical grid, earthquake (or fantasy movie...) etc. event.
>>>>> Keep the Big Picture about various SHTF: It ain't just about owning a cool gun(s), and training a bit like the SBS (yes, British) and the Teams.<<<<<

Just a reminder about what is many times more likely to kill many Americans - and does every year. :(

I mean, why wouldn’t it be? It’s light, slim, efficient, and has a reasonable aftermarket. If you’re a manlet and the stock fits you, it’d be fantastic if you want something different from your typical AK.
