I FINALLY rounded up a P9
« on: September 23, 2021, 11:38:18 AM »
I had been on the search for a nice Springfield P9 for a few years. I found MANY that either had been drilled for scope or just beaten up badly. FINALLY got a PM on ODT from a friend who had found one on the BE forum. I contacted the seller and made hesitant arrangements to buy it. I'm sure glad I did! This pistol looks unfired! The price was a little more than I wanted to pay, but it ended the search and scratched another gun off my "must own" bucket list. What do you think of it? Any of you gentlemen have one?

Sweet! I've been looking for one of those for a long time as well. Looks like you scored a good one. Enjoy!

Looks like it has and adjustable rear sight for elevation.  If so, very nice.

I’m not 100% sure but I think those are standard fixed sights. Similar to what comes on older Tanfoglios.

Congrats!

P9 ended up being my favorite pistol, even more than my 1911.
Mine came in 9mm but converts to 40 with just a slide and spring swap and has been both a carry gun, race gun, fun gun, and with the addition of the .22lr conversion a training gun for my kids.

I only ever had to replace a slide release which broke after ~2000 rnds, otherwise it has never had an issue. However I don't plan to shoot any more hot stuff until I pick up a recoil buffer.

Congrats on the great find! I have the P9C that I found in the used guns section of an lgs a few years back. Nice finish and trigger action. However, it had consistent feeding issues and the only gun with a bit of trigger bite for me. I sent it off to Stuart’s gang to fix the feeding issues and swap out the sights. A nice pistol to shoot in spite of the occasional trigger bite. The steel frame D Compact surplus was re-done by CGW.
