Sp01 tatical flat spring cutting
« on: September 24, 2021, 09:49:24 PM »
How much do you need to cut from the tatical flat spring to equal 14 or 11 lbs ? Or better just to buy round springs and new guide rod?
I’ve already put in a 14 with a new guide rod . Wondering if I could convert that heavy flat spring to a lighter one

I would just buy a new spring from CGW. Just curious, why replace the guide rod?

Flat spring has different inside dimension than round spring

I just put a stainless guide rod in from CGW in my SP-01 and got a few of their round springs to try out.  I finally settled on the 14# for factory 115gr loads but they have lighter ones.

I just use the standard rod and run Cajun springs. Runs fine. I use a 11lb spring for my sp-01 shadow. I reload and my ammo is on the light side.

Got a standard guide rod now I can switch between round springs as needed.
