97 single or pro package
« on: September 27, 2021, 09:13:19 PM »
Upgrading my cz 97b , since I will be useing it in single action only is it worth it to get the Cajun standard package with a single action only , or am I gaining anything with the pro package and just shooting it it single action.which would be the shortest reset trigger like a 1911?

I have the pro pack in all my CZ's and love it. You get a very crisp sa break along with a much smoother da pull. I don't have a single action CZ but I've handled a few and your just not going a 1911 style reset with the CZ action so you probably need to consider that.

Shortest SA reset is achieved by deleting the firing pin block and using a flat SAO trigger with pre and post travel screws. This path will also save a little money as the only required parts are trigger, floating trigger pin, reduced power trigger return spring, sear delete spacer. Add the race hammer and 1 HPIN if you want a nice crisp break. It may not equal a good 1911 trigger, but it will be close. Up to the owner if they are comfortable deleting the fpb, but that is the only way to achieve the shortest travel with a B model CZ.

I second @Earl Keese
The race hammer is not needed to get a good break, but it will help.  The other components are more important.

I didn't say the hammer isn't necessary for a good break. I actually think it is. . .

I like this idea, but of you change the hammer do you have to put in a new adjustable sear to make the safety work?

Yep, either that or file the safety leg on the oem sear.
