new PCR-great gun but horrible trigger

 So I finally shot a PCR that I bought a few months ago. My god, its the worst trigger of any gun I have shot in years. I had another PCR about 5 yrs ago and it was great. Though I got it used and dont know if it was stock. At the same time I had a Sig Legion 226, and the PCR outshot it by a lot.

 I'll shoot it some more, maybe its still so new that the trigger parts have to smooth out a little. ]
 I also shot an FN FNP, and that gun had the best stock trigger I have ever shot.

 Guess I'll be browsing CGW and CZC for triggers-lol

The CGW Pro Package is the cure. All My CZ's wear it. By contrast the worst out of the box CZ trigger I had was 3X better than the hideous trigger in My P229 Legion.

Bad in what way? Too heavy, too gritty, too much pre-travel/over-travel? Different solutions for different problems.

My P-01 trigger was "meh" when I got it. Not horrible but not great either. Some parts from CGW and some polishing of the internals made it one of the very best triggers of any gun I own (short of my 1911s).

 Well, the pull is really long, and notchy, or maybe gritty. I got better results from squeezing it faster than I'd like to. The reset is too long also

The only fix for length of pull and reset is the CGW's Reach Reduction Kits. But don't expect miracles. It will definitely shorten it; but only by 5mm/0.2 inches. I'm not sure how much experience you have with DA/SA guns; but by their very nature the DA pull will always be long compared to striker or SA-only guns. However follow-up shots will be in SA and can/should have a very short length of pull.

The notchy/gritty trigger can be fixed by polishing some of the internals. Do a search on polishing and you'll find lot's of info. abyss1232 on YouTube have some videos on this that I used.

If you're going to get the Reach Reduction Kit, you might look at CGW's Pro Package which includes this kit and much more. Many users here have these and I have them installed on all of my CZs. It adds to the cost; but you'll already have the gun apart for the Reach Reduction and the polishing anyway -- so why not do everything at once.

Shoot at least 500 rds of live ammo...use the "O Ring for dry firing method: I (did at least 100 rds a night for a couple of weeks)at night watching TV or just sitting out and relaxing.  My trigger became smooth as silk...as for the D/A distance...I just adapted to it.

CZ 75 series can be amazing triggers.  They can also come pretty bad.  Sometimes NO amount of dry/hot firing will smooth enough and they can stack pretty bad - not as bad as P series, but they do. 

Had a P01 MANY years ago and it went to CZ twice, then I Opted to ditch it and moved on.  Got the itch just before CCP virus totally hit the P01 prices and one was in a shop, so I bought it committed to making it 'right'.  It was hard.  Grit and stacking.  Ended up replacing the trigger bar.  Then I went the full CGW defensive route, and it is a great shooter.  SA is as good as a better than good 1911.  DA still stacks a bit, but it is a 'smooth' sort of stack, and the SHORT pull from the CGW hammer makes it nice. These guns are just naturally good shooters.  Too bad that they cannot get the QC on the triggers right.

Well maybe but I don't completely agree on that. CZ's are still basically service grade guns with the tolerance variations that go along with that. I recently replaced the trigger group in a pair of Sig P229 Legions with parts from Gray Guns because they had the most hideous stagey trigger I'd run across in quite awhile. They in fact got worse as time and use increased.
You'd think a gun with msrp of $1400 now would not have such an issue but they certainly did. So that said I did not pay msrp when I purchased them but with the addition of the replacement parts to those guns that brings the total investment in the pair of Sigs to abut $1250 each now.
I can install the Full CGW Pro Package in a PCR and upgrade the sights along the way and still not crack $1000 so there's that.

My own experience is that SIG P guns come with better triggers OTB, and that Legions, while they SHOULD absolutely as you state come with GTG triggers, can be worse!  I believe that the SIG pulling action is easier to get smoother than the CZ - the way the TB pushes the rest of the FCG. 

Its just that WHEN the CZ trigger is right it is SO good, it is disappointing when you pick them up and they really stink. The other piece is the trigger 'camming' which actually doesn't bother me all that much. 

I have just felt some (and bought two) CZ triggers that are pretty bad, and they really shouldn't be even at $600.  Some grit at that price is understandable.

I don't even concern myself with how the trigger feels on a CZ anymore. I buy the gun and run a couple hundred rounds through it so as to be sure there's no function issue and once it passes that test it gets stripped into it's minor parts and awaits the arrival of the CGW Pro Package parts. I honestly don't have a single semi auto pistol that I have not found an area in which it needed some mods to fit my preference.

Also got a PCR about a month ago and was surprised about the DA trigger. I wouldn't characterize it as bad or gritty, but the stock pull weight is about 11 lbs. The SA felt pretty good. Only have about 100 rds through it so far, and will probably put a few hundred more through it and then look at options to improve it, whether its a CGW Pro Package or a variation of that. Always see good recommendations on these boards.

My PCR shoots great.  I had a gunsmith do some minor work when I first bought it but later added a spring kit from MCARBO.  They are a top notch company and stand behind their products.  If you are not familiar with them its worth a look.

My PCR went to CZ Custom and shoots way better than I can...  The DA and the SA triggers are superb.

 Problem solved. I traded it for a tricked out Sig P229. Chances are I'll pick up another PCR in the future.
