Hello All,
After installing the CGW trigger kit into my new PCR, I am definitely a fan. I love the way it feels for a defensive handgun. I won't have a CZ unless it has similar quality of operation.
Now I am considering a full size one to add to my bag of tricks.
However, I am hampered by fingers and thumbs that are 'just' short enough that I NEED that reach reduction trigger setup AND I can't use the factory thumb safeties with my right hand thumb, unless I roll the gun around in my hand [barrel off target].
Decockers resolve both issues for me, especially with that reach reduction trigger setup.
However, I am kind of wanting an SP-01, and I live in CA- so I can ONLY get one with a safety [unless someone here has the old tactical/decocker model 01100 that was discontinued around 15 years ago? Hmmm?].
In searching around, I did find a replacement safety lever that sticks toward the rear enough that I think it would feel comfortable for me [I am used to thumb safeties with other firearms].
So, now I am debating an SP-01, with a replacement safety, and then the full CGW kit installed, or a CZ 75BD [which I can get here], with the CGW kit installed [and save $200 on the gun/safety, but lose the front rail].
What I was wondering is if the manual safety model of the CZ had any difference in the 'feel' of the trigger compared to the decocker models?
I am referring to the overall length of the trigger pull when the hammer is resting on the slide [not decocked onto hammer half-cock notch], as well as the reset distance?
Any insight on any perceived differences in the action would be appreciated.
I am already aware of the potential for reduction in recoil of the SP-01 and the light rail ability. I understand the difference in weight.
At this time, I am only interested in any possible differences in trigger action/reset, and inherent accuracy differences, between the manual safety SP-01 and the decocker 75BD.
This will be primarily for range fun, and possibly some forms of competition- but not official ISPC/NRA/NCAAF type competitions [did I make you smile?].
Thanks for any insight you can give.
I list this here as I figured that the CGW trigger kits might change some of the characteristics of a 'stock' CZ, and I am only interested in one with this quality of trigger.
