Best shooting CZ for under $1000

What is your best shooting / most accurate CZ pistol for under $1000.  Factory or with modifications as long as it's under a grand.

MSRP under $1000 or what we paid?

My (used) TacSport .40 was a lot less than $1000 when I bought her   8)

Nice.

I want to see if I can get or make me a 9mm tack driver for under a grand.  I have looked at a Shadow model today, which led me to my thinking and question this evening.  I don't compete so that is why I am thinking of something other than a competition model.  More of a general purpose tack driver.

In my experience, my P-07 and P-09 have been the most accurate, though I still prefer my cajunized pre-b's. Some trigger work and an optic cut and you're gtg. My 97B w/ Cajun bushing is just as accurate, but it doesn't fit the specified budget.

If you're serious about consistent groups a red dot really helps.  Maybe try a P10F OR.

I found a used Shadow 2 last year for 8 Benjamins.  It barely had enough rounds through it to break in.  Good deals can be found if you look.  Used SP-01 Shadows are also out there.  Either would be my choice with some CGW parts to make them better.

In general, CZs were made to be fighting or go fast competition guns.  If I wanted pure accuracy, I'd buy a 1911.  For CZs, I'd probably get a Shadow or Shadow 2 and add a bushing and a single action trigger.
Don't mistake my high post count for knowledge or wisdom.   I just like hearing myself type.

Competition 1911s are not under $1,000 these days.  Most of the ones advertised as such need considerable work.  P-01 or SP-01 Tactical are under and you can clean up the trigger by just dry firing them 1,000 times.  Both are so are 10 ring accurate on a B-27 at 25 yards and can be used for both match and home defense.  P-01 is a nice carry gun as well.

These are only my humble opinions.  Wish you luck on your decision.

I was impressed with a 75 B compact.  Shooting about 500 rounds and the trigger is pretty dern
good for what you are looking for. I expect the full size will do as well. A touch of trigger work is
all about any of them need unless you are into competition, then your budget won't work. 8)

so barring a fantastic deal on a used competition model pistol, the SP-01 / SP-01 Tactical would be my choice

IMO, you need to find a CZ75b that has a good slide to frame fit, good barrel lockup with a snug fitting barrel bushing. They are out there in factory stock form.  With that in mind, install the Mcarbo spring kit with a Dawson fiber optic front sight, and you will have a very accurate CZ that will easily rival a Shadow 2. Total cost will be well under a $1000.

What makes the 1911's more accurate than some of the other pistols out there?
