Same gun I carry during the day. Out of the holster, and on to the nightstand.

Unfortunately, I am only able to pocket carry an LCP during the day (most of the time) so I needed a dedicated firearm for the nightstand. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this Security 9 checked off all of the boxes on my list. I'm quite pleased with it, but it's a gun I won't be upset about losing should something happen. I can't say I'd feel that way about a CZ, HK, Beretta, Tanfo, etc.
No matter where you're going, there you are.

In short, the best nightstand gun is the one that's on your nightstand when it's needed. I sure hope I never need mine.

I keep my Sig P245 next to my nightstand in a quick deploy safe. Only because my S&W 500 doesn’t fit

The Security 9 is going in the nightstand drawer, but this ol' girl is right around the corner in the closet.

FK BRNO PSD in 7.5 FK or the 9mm or 10mm barrel?

I find it hard to believe that nobody made any comments about "other" items in my nightstand.  ::)
