What are your preferred polymer striker guns?
« on: October 16, 2021, 08:58:31 PM »
So, I recently upgraded the grip modules on my SIG P320 to the Wilson version and got me thinking how much I enjoy these guns.  That said, I also really like my CZ P10c.  For me both brands work for me and my shooting styles, experiences.

Have owned Glocks, XDs in the past and still have a S&W M&P (Gen 1).

While I respect the Glocks, their grip angle doesn’t work for me. The XD family was better, and my daughter has mine now.

I like the adaptability of the SIGs and they simply work for me- much better than the other brands. The CZ also works for me well, again, better than the other brands.  For me, it’s a toss up between the CZ and the SIG- CZ has a better price point, SIG adaptability. Happy I can have both.

I carry the SIG P365XL. Hands down the best carry striker lineups. I'd like to see CZ do something similar.  I'd also like to see CZ make a 5.7mm. But yeah I agree CZ and SIG are the best things going now. Ruger is quietly making models that too are modular. Not sure how they are without SIG stopping them etc. Maybe it cause how they did it tho. They're not a tidy drop in FCU like SIGs are. But kinda of similar. Anyway they did it with the 57 and I turned mine into a PDW. so if they can do it. CZ should be able to come up with a modular serialized FCU someday soon I hope. But yeah I'd like to see a duty inspired model of a 57 by CZ like the FN 57. And a second model like Rugers 57 for the range. And maybe a conceal carry one also. Then maybe more would get into the 57 cartridge and bring the price of the round down also. I still carry a 9mm tho till then

P320 with Wilson Combat frame is an awesome handgun. With tungsten inserts this tool is perfectly leveled in the hand.
I voted for this one as well as for M&P. I carried M&P9 with Apex flat trigger and it was even better shooter than WCP320  8) Little different feel in the hand but much better trigger pull.
I became lightweight metal hammer fired pistols fan and stayed with P-01 Omega and Staccato C2 as my favorite. Completely opposite to your question.  ;D

I had a 320 m18 with a Wilson grip. Gifted it to my daughter and son in law as a present for home protection. Really nice gun. Need to replace it soon

Truth be told, I’ve grown very fond of my Gen 5 G26 and G45 over the last couple of years, and have slowly sold off or am in process of selling all of my other striker-fire handguns with exception of my CZ 100.

*ETA Good friend who says he can’t warm up to Glock is going to trade me his new G5 G19 w/Ameriglo NS for my M&P9 2.0 3.6”.

None! Handled and fired nearly everything out there and no interest in any. The new Walther PDP does feel good in the hand and has the best out of the box trigger of any I've handled plus they use glock sight cuts so the possibilities there are endless and they are optic ready for those who want that. I could be tempted into one if a deal presents itself but I'm not paying msrp like everone is charging right now.

From my experience I'll choose the H-K VP9SK. Overall, its handling and attributes place it at the top.

P365- it suits me well, and it's the only polymer handgun that I'm interested in .

I have some.  The only one I'd carry concealed is the M&P Shield 9MM.

The Glock - nope.  Doesn't fit my hand, doesn't shoot good groups.

The XDMs - nope.  Feels better in my hand but still don't meet my group requirements.

The XD .45 - close, shoots better than the 9MM XDMs but so darn big for carry (5" Tactical model).

The M&Ps - feels super good in my hand.  The smaller calibers just won't shoot what I want for groups.  With lots of APEX money the 2.0 5" 9MM is better than the rest, but would not be my first choice.

The M&P .45 Compact - as good as the others for fit/feel and shoots better groups than the smaller calibers.  I would consider carrying this one concealed if it had a red dot on it.  Not sure it would outshoot the P07 .40, but it might be close/good enough.  Also has an Apex trigger in it.  If Apex made a .45 acp barrel for it I'd buy one as the one  put in the 5" 2.0 made a very noticeable difference in the group size.

Don't have a P10.  Sort of thought about them, but then I'd be buying those expensive CZ mags for $10 more each than the Mecgar mags.  If all my old P07/P09 mags would work it might be worth it, but they are pre P10 so they don't have the right cuts in them.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

These 2 Beauties are my Most Accurate and Sweet Shooting strikers. (the Walther is all steel)
I got rid of my P-10C and P10F, I didn't like the triggers.

The only two that I own are a P 07 and a Sig p365 the rest are all metal hammer fired. Darn I hate when that happens I meant P10C and P365.

The last time I had my P-07 out, it still had a Hammer.  ;)

The ones that other people own................... but that wasn't a poll option unless it falls under other.

I only have two striker fired pistols, a Sig P365 and a SAR USA SAR9. I really dig both of them but I’m most accurate with the SAR.

I have several Striker fired Pistols and they are all great!  8)  My favorite of all is my Canik TP9V1, which has served as my Fall and Winter EDC for several seasons.  However, I do rotate them.

Canik TP9V1 - Favorite EDC, very very Accurate and Reliable, with a great Trigger in both DA and SA
S&W SW9VE - Second favorite EDC - Accurate and very Reliable, much of it's design was copied from Glock,  Note with serious Trigger Job and would be unacceptable without it
Steyr L9A1 - Accurate and reliable, excellent Full Sized Battle Pistol

Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm - Third Favorite EDC, Accurate and Reliable, but lacks Company Support for parts
Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro 9mm - Favorite Summer EDC, Very Accurate and Reliable, but also lacks Company Support for Parts
Taurus PT709 Slim - second Summer EDC, reasonably Accurate and reliable, but recently discontinued and will lack Company Support for parts
Taurus PT24/7 OSS DS .45 - Excellent Full Sized Battle Pistol and Home Defense Pistol, Very Accurate and Reliable but lacks Company Support for parts

A note on the Taurus Pistols is that these are shot/practiced with, very very sparingly, but have proven reasonably durable.

Taurus 24/7 Pro, Canik TP9V1, S&W SW9VE

Steyr L9A1

Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro and PT709 Slim

Taurus 24/7 OSS DS .45
