I won't even bother looking at GB for one. I think the msrp is very reasonable and I wouldn't feel bad about paying that but I won't pay more to anyone. I'll let the owner/dealer that runs the local range know I'm interested and eventually he'll get me one at or below msrp.

I know Academy, at least here in TX, sells Springfield Armory. If they sell this pistol it’ll most likely sell under MSRP, probably in the $649.99 price range.

Girsan is coming out with their own version. Having used some of their products, I would expect the quality to be on a par with Springfield, if not a bit better. However, it looks like they won't have wooden grips:

I definitely like the safety on the Springfield better.

Only disappointment is it comes with only 1 magazine.  Wonder if original mags work?

I watched a YouTube video about it and it said most of the original HP parts will work on this gun so I’m sure magazines would.

It is reported that yes, legacy magazines will fit the new Springfield version.

It looks like the Girsan retains the original magazine disconnect safety. With this, the trigger can't be as good as Springfield's trigger.

I'll hold out for the SA over the Turkish made model for my money.

The Girsan model has the same looking safety as the old "Inglis" Hi-Powers from Canada.

Greg Cote is sold out of the Mecgar 15 rd mags. Looks like the people saying they will buy one aren't just talking.

Nothing like a little friendly competition, I guess  :D

I can't believe Girsan horked SA's ad copy to manipulate as their own  ;D.  That won't help them!

Q: it looks like the SA-35 may have more standardized dove tail mounts for sights. Does anyone know if the SA-35 will be accept existing sights!

Yeah, maybe next year I may be able to get one - lol.
