It’s a shame that CZ has totally (seemingly willfully) dropped the ball on the civilian, semi-auto 7.62x39 Bren. It didn’t have to be that way, their full-auto military x39 Brens seem to function just fine, as they apparently have a different (tungsten weighted?) bolt carrier. The problem with 5.56 is that it’s relatively anemic, the ballistic equivalent to an ice pick out of a short barrel at rifle distances, compared to 7.62x39 and the related 6.5 Grendel. There are a lot of countries besides Russia that make x39 ammo for cheap that are starting to pick up the slack.
But CZ has made some questionable decisions lately, from failing to address the x39 Brens’ problems to purchasing Colt and then deciding to leave production in anti-gun, CT, etc.
