600 yds 6.5CM in windy conditions
« on: November 22, 2021, 02:46:33 PM »

There was another guy there shooting a nice 6mmbolt gun. I spotted for him some @600 and the wind was blowing his bullets across the 4' plate, with some hits near center or on center plate. Ive seen him shoot baseball sized groups before with that rifle so it was a bit windy for sure.

We finished out with the pistol pit where I ran the CZ BullShadow, SAR P8l, and the K-12 SE, ALL shot great, dreamful even.
A great day for sure!

Looks like a good day.  Even with the wind.

I'm jealous. My local club range only goes to 200 yds. and I would really like to wring out my Grendel at some longer distances.
No matter where you're going, there you are.

Great experience on a windy day. The wind is the decisive factor. I think I will try banging steel at some point.

That's my today 4-shot group at 200m, cross wind 10km/h, .243, 105gr. The good thing was that the wind was stable, no changing directions.

wow! that's great group!
What 105 bullet do you run? I like the VLD 105s. I run them in my 6ARC. I never liked ARs until I saw that Hornady basically copied the folks that can stuff a 243 bullet in a Grendle case. I think thats about as good as you can get with the AR-15 mag len.

I run 105 Hybrids and BT Targets. I just bought 95gr VLDs and will be testing them next year.

I just got 500 BT targets on the way the other day from precision reloading. also got a stack of 124 PDs for the pistols. Think that will keep me busy til spring.
