ECO Gone?
« on: December 03, 2021, 12:53:20 PM »
I was surprised to find (or not find) that the ECO is not listed on the DW site anymore. Anyone know if it has been discontinued?!? That would be a bummer, as I was under the impression its been a pretty popular model, and I don't see any other office-size option to replace it.

Yup - looks like the Vigil CCO is still in the lineup, and that would be the closest thing now if the ECO is gone. Though with the commander size slide, it's not as compact asa the ECO. That said, I'm less concerned about slide length than grip length for carry, and if the ECO is truly gone, I may be looking at a Vigil CCO at point.

But I just picked up a different 1911, so it might be a little while... 8)

Yes, the ECO models were discontinued. I think 2020 was the last year through I seem to recall some may have still come through early in 2021. Whatever the exact date they have definitely been discontinued for a while.

That's too bad. My understanding was that it was a pretty popular model, but maybe not.

They're still available on the used market. I picked up a 9mm version just this past week that looks almost brand new.

Watch Gunbroker.com (be careful of the increasing number of scammers there). They show up every month or 2. I got mine from a forum member on 1911Addicts.com.

I've no idea why DW discontinued them. They seem quite popular with 1911 folks.

Thanks, I may keep my eyes out for a used one on the 1911Addicts forum and elsewhere, although I don't do business on GB.
