Rami magazine change drills
« on: December 24, 2021, 10:13:37 AM »
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
For those who do magazine drills with the Rami, do you have any tips/pearls to share on how to have the 14 round drop freely once magazine release is pressed. It also takes some hand acrobatics for my large hands to press that button and then the 14 rd magazine snags on the meaty part of my hand necessitating to pull the mag with the free hand, hence drill becomes "how to pull your empty mag with free hand"
thank you for your response(s).
The Polk County resolution includes  a clause
to the pro-resolution stance. It says,
“The criminal misuse of firearms is due to the fact that criminals do not obey laws, and this is not a reason to abrogate or abridge the unalienable, constitutionally guaranteed rights of law-abiding citizens."

Try adjusting your grip to something like this when dropping mags.  I take this approach when running my RAMI in IDPA matches.  I don't like the idea of changing my grip but I'll take that over mags getting stuck.

That looks precisely like how I have chosen to make a mag change on the RAMI, and it works pretty well with just a little practice.

thank you CAndrew Dunning and Raven45 for your replies.
Do you guys find that technique applicable to the larger 14 rounder where the mag drops freely?

Yes.  Though, I don't really use my 14 because a) a little harder to clear when dropping and b) harder to conceal.

Same technique as the above pic for me. I mainly practice with the 10rd since that's how I carry. I also use my Rami for IDPA BUG, but 10rd is required there as well.

I would need all the help I could get to be competitive in a regular match with the RAMI. Luckily, my club has a dedicated BUG match. Works out since I can use all of my carry gear.

I totally get it.  I had to work pretty hard to get ready for "EDC Dec."  [emoji16]

Precisely as stated by Mr. Keese.  Except I can't use my RAMI in an IDPA BUG match, because it has a Holosun 507K optic mounted on it!  Has to be in CO division.

There's a BUG CO division, that's what I shoot in.
