P07 Pro Package worth it?
« on: January 08, 2022, 05:28:37 AM »
I’ve seen a few posts/videos of people saying the P07 pro package isnt worth the money and that it hardly changes things besides a short reset. How many of you guys found the upgrade worth the money. Im currently waiting on the black nitride trigger to come back in stock so i can place an order but might get impatient and get the stainless, granted that im not further convinced it isnt worth the price.

WORTH IT!!!!!!

Night and day difference on mine.
I went from slightly disappointed to ecstatic with a single installation.

Similar experience as MadDuner.

I view it as money well spent.

All depends on what you want or expect from the pistol, and what you want to spend. Wife and I both have P07's and like them as is. Mine did require a lot of break-in and polishing, but is a trusted HD pistol after 5K+ rounds. The Wife's was nice OOB and got better with over 4K rounds through it.
While I'm sure I could significantly improve the performance of both pistols with new parts; they're great tools, and we've elected to use the bucks toward more toys and ammo.

I usually advise a 1,000 DA dry fires (with snap cap).  This will get you familiar with the gun and do most of the smoothing that is needed.  I did the Pro Package after that mainly for the reset.  I would agree that it is worth the price.

Thanks everyone. I’m definitely a fan of CGW since I installed their kit on my P01, but saw a video on YT showing a small difference between the OEM and Pro kit besides the reset. BUT lucky for me, the person I just bought my P07 from didnt mention he already had a bleep Pro kit installed. Dry fired it once and was like “wait.. this is an OEM trigger???” I knew something was off and asked, where i found out. Definitely happy about that. Haha

If the seller gave you the original factory parts, you could always put them in the gun to see the difference!   ;D

Here is a link to a bunch of videos I made when the P-07/09's first came out, showing assembly/disassembly.  Not that you need them since you got the gun from a smart seller.

CGW Pro Packs are worth every penny. You will not only get a better reset you will also get a supremely better SA pull with the CGW hammer. All my new CZ's get a 500 round break in to be sure function is normal and there are no defects then I do the full CGW treatment on them.

Thanks Joe, i appreciate the link. Maybe one day when im bored ill mess around and see. I definitely want to be comfortable and used to tearing down the P07, especially since everyone is saying it’s easier to work with than the P01, which honestly wasnt too bad of a job.

They are worth it and if you did the P01 the kit for the P07 will be a lot easier to install

Definitely. I actually realized that the guy i bought from didnt actually get the Pro kit, but the self defense kit and a few other items on the side.

92030 - Short reset kit
97058-220 - roller bearing, although i measured the OEM bearing and i think they should have ordered the .225” bearing
13RSP - recoil spring, 13#
SPGK79 - Self defense kit.

Does anyone know what parts i need to order to make it a Pro kit vs a Self defense kit?

Looks like maybe the hammer is all you need at this point.

Honesty, I was kinda disappointed in my P09 with the pro kit.
It wasn't the oh my God that's nice feeling I get like from the regular CZ system.
Is the trigger lighter, smoother and shorter reset, yep but just didn't WOW me.
But mine was pretty darn good from the factory and from what CGW has told me good omegas have a smaller window for improvement.

I don't run the short reset kit or extended firing pin in my P-07's but I run all the rest of CGW's parts.  I definitely think it's worth it.  If you're just trying to improve your DA pull you can start with the spring kit they now sell for around 30$.  If you want to improve your SA break then you need their hammer or the similar one sold by CZ Custom.  If you want to further smooth out your DA you need to measure your DA roller with a caliper and replace it with the appropriate sized CGW part.  After doing these other mods, if you want to get your SA back up over 3 lbs pull for carry then you need their extra strength sear springs.
