Red Dot zeroing at 20 & 50 yards
« on: October 30, 2021, 03:35:22 AM »

Guys,

The sources I have read (and manufacturer specs as well) say that a 9mm bullet has a flat trajectory at 20-50 yards.

So using that logic, does that mean that a red dot zeroed at 20 yards will shoot true at 30, 40 and 50 yards without compensating for drop?

Thanks!

Depends on how you define "flat".  I zero my bullseye pistols at 25 yards and then hold between one and two inches higher at 50 yards, 8" at 100, 48" at 200.

For anything but bullseye competition, yes, it is pretty flat from 25 to 50 yards.
