New CZ 75 B OMEGA - 89234 - First time on the Range.
« on: January 28, 2022, 06:17:15 PM »
Just bought a new CZ 75 B OMEGA - SKU 89234.

I cleaned the new gun, got rid off every old grease and lubed it with favorite home made oil blend (mineral Oil and ceramic nano particles)

For break in I used 2 boxes Fiocchi 115 FMJ range ammo.

1st Mag flowless.
2nd Mag round 3 misfired. I ejected the bullet but no firing mark therefore I reloaded it. Misfired again, retriggered in DA mode and bang - probably a bad bullet.

The remaining 79 rounds went thru flawless with a very narrow grouping.

After that a box of Wolf copper washed bimetal 115. That ammo jammed or did not eject every cycle with the Walter PDP
Fired Flawless with the CZ.

Next: ?4 Mags of cheap bulk REMAN brass 115. This ammo caused excessive jamming on my G3c and SCCY-2
Fired Flawless with the CZ.
?
And just for fun another box Wolf ammo - flawless again.

I am impressed.

My son and I did the same with his new Beretta 92 FS a couple weeks ago. Also no problems.

But for the look and feel - I like the CZ more, especially the  urban grey color.

I am impressed !!!
Best full-size gun in this price range

I used 3 additional MEC-GAR 19 round mags. (MGCZ7519DPS) - they look good and worked well as the original 18rd MEC-GARs which came with the gun.

Congrats, I am a huge CZ fan, along with an omega P01 and a P09.  Of all my CZs, I prefer the omega trigger and decocker set up.

Been shooting my CZs in IDPA - last year it was my P 10c.  I’ve never had any malfunctions with my CZs during the matches.

Keep the range reports coming

The Urban Gray models are definitely sharp looking pistols.

I don't mind the Omega models at all.  Some people will tell you the triggers aren't too good and are tough to make much better but I'm a trigger snob and have no issues with my Omegas (I use the safeties and carry cocked and locked so mine are shot single action, not double action first shots).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Congrats, I have a P-01 Omega, IMHO they are great guns. I've never had any misfires with it.

I have read a lot about the omega trigger, zillions of opinions out there..

Here comes mine:  ;D

DA is not awesome but its there if needed in case of misfiring or if decocked.
SA is very good in my opinion, I don't think there is a reason to upgrade it, at least I do not shoot at intl. championships.
Racking the slide after feeding the mag will put it in condition 0 which also means SA mode therefore no thing at the range.

If I carry - which I seldom do - I am going always unchambered (Condition 2).  Let the cops do the shooting at the Walmart parking lot (and the paperwork)
Never needed to draw or take the gun out of the holster. The bears here in northeast GA fears us humans more than we fear them.

CZ does not recommend using non-brass ammo. If you continue to have FTF issues, send it back to the factory and they will lengthen the chamber throat, like they did to my Omega, which had the same issue.

Maybe read what he actually posted here. There's nothing about FTF in the CZ.

Just curious where CZ has said not to use non-brass ammo in their pistols?

Per the Warranty Dept correspondence Technical Support and Gunsmith
1-800-955-4486

"Aluminum cases are not recommended as it does not have the same expansion and contraction properties as brass and will cause reduced performance in a straight walled chambering, regardless of the coating or plating.
Our pistols are exclusively designed around the use of brass cartridges, so we can only recommend factory loaded quality brass cased ammunition."

"We cannot recommend the use of steel cased ammunition in our pistols, as the steel to steel contact will cause excessive wear to contacted parts such as the barrel, slide, and extractor.
This will require much faster replacement of these parts so while in the short term the cost is slightly cheaper for the ammunition, the later replacement of these parts or even pistol would outweigh any savings.
For this reason, we can only recommend quality factory brass cased ammunition for the best function and longevity."
