NEW CZ 75D Compact PCR-Gunsmith Question
« on: February 06, 2022, 07:16:36 PM »
I bought a new PCR yesterday. Took it to the range today and put 150 rounds through it. Very nice shooter, but the sights are hard to see. (I'm used to my SIG P365XL night sights, particularly the green front sight).

My question is regarding how to go about having new sights installed. I'm not going to attempt it myself. Whether I order them from CGW or CZC or wherever, I'd rather have a local gunsmith do work on the gun.

Is it customary to order the sights I want and bring them to a gunsmith, or would he have access to sights on his own for the gun, and be able to do it without me ordering them?

Any input would be appreciated.

I think i might talk with the gunsmith and see how they would prefer to go. In some cases gunsmiths have established accounts with different vendors. In other cases they may prefer that the pistols owner provide the sights to be installed.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to look for a gunsmith this week and start the process. Hoping to drop it off and pick it up without too much "guessing" on what sights will work best for me.

I found a gunsmith who was very helpful. He put the sights on my new CZ the same day I dropped it off. Very happy with the new sights, and I have a gunsmith now should I need one down the road.

Which sights did you wind up going with?

I went with the TruGlo TFX Pro sights. Hit the range the next day and love them. A huge improvement over the stock ones, and they're dead on. Great in the dark too.

Now searching for the right grips for ccw...

I just bought one also. I put Lok grips on mine. Check them out, different models to choose from. I put the matrix on mine, less aggressive.

I had the CZ full sized standard gun sights installed on my PCR and love them. Now I can see what I am aiming at.

I went with the TFX Pro sights as well.  I am 75 and have some eye issues.  These sights work really well for me in bright sun and in low light.

I had CZ Custom install them as part of some other work on my PCR.
