• Partial magazines do not need to be retained when:
-Magazines start staged at the shooting position and
-The shooter does not leave the position

Just catching up on this. I shot a few IDPA matches that they were fun but the shoot until slide lock always got me.
Now if we can get USPSA to not allow you to change mags in front of a wide open target, it would make me smile and a lot of raceBois cry.
I might shoot some idpa this year.

I shoot them both but IDPA tends to be more fun...at least around me. IDPA shooters are generally more laid back and casual about it.

People who shoot USPSA complain about IDPA rules but USPSA stages can get so complex it becomes a competition of stage planning over shooting--especially as the scoring values time more than accuracy. I get they need to keep making it interesting for the top competitors but I am there to improve my skills (with accuracy) and have fun. That's why I dabble in both.

I don't understand why IDPA only upped the ammo limit to 15 on SSP. Should've at least done CO too. Heck, my PCR meets all the criteria for CCP and still holds 15 rounds w/ the standard mags.
