pre b cz75
« on: April 07, 2022, 06:52:46 AM »
I'm new to the forum, and I have a question for the more knowledgeable cz enthusiast.

I have been wanting to get a hold of an earlier pre b gun and have been looking online for an earlier 80's model, it seems the prices are kinda all over the board, I have seen some under 1k and some as high 2k, what does anyone think a blued gun in excellent condition from that era go for, I don't want to over pay for one. Not really interested in the repro one with painted finshes.

Thanks in advance for you input. dannyrybeck@gmail.com

A factory blued pre-b would be nice to own, my early '80s are all factory "painted"

welcome,

good luck finding a "blued" pre-b gun.

while you may not want to pay too much, whatever that is, you will need to be real patient and then be willing to jump at that moment and hopefully someone with 5 bucks more wont want it more than you do.

theres a saying...."buy once, cry once".  I would venture to say that everyone on here has "been there, done that" at one time or another.

not sure what you endgame is either.  but thats up to you.

if you want to consider, you can always buy a used/surplus and have it refinished in whatever color/coating you want.

good luck

Doing a seach on google, I found two for sale on a gun site, one has the polymer finish and one has the blue finish, but they are out of my price range.

Prices will vary depending on blued finish condition of course but also if item comes with original box, test target and mags.

Sale prices I've seen over the past few years:
 197x short rail $3k+
 1980 short rail $2k+
 1980 full rail $1350 - $1900
 1981 $900 - $1275
 1982 $700 - $1500

Hopefully this will help quantify and avoid "over pay"  :)

The other factor is this:  do you care if it has been nicely reblued or its really factory and can you tell the difference?

Most came with an enamel finish and even the early 80s ones could have a bad looking finish and people had them blued.
