Shooting Light
« on: April 07, 2022, 08:37:30 PM »
I hate Daylight Savings Time.

I consider it an anachronism, and a poorly thought out one at that. I am a morning person, the more so the older I get, and would MUCH rather have "extra" daylight at the beginning of the day than at the end of it. Given that there are no "extra" hours to any day, it is absurd that some claim DST gives them any more time to do business, run errands, or do whatever. Rather than mess with the time of day itself, people who believe such things should be petitioning their employers to open at six instead of seven, and close at four instead of five- which is what DST amounts to....rather than jerking around folks who dont care for the mandatory perversion of the clock.

It is beyond ridiculous that it should be dark until 9am or so in the winter, or daylight until 9pm or so in the summer. I like the idea of stopping the time change madness, but it should be full time Standard Time rather than this idiocy- which we all saw the folly of when Carter put us on it year round during the fictional "energy crisis" back during his reign.

That "experiment" in year-round DST lunacy, was enough that the idea should never have been considered again. It has been bad enough that we went from about 6 months of normalcy to 6 or so of DST, to nine months of Satanic Time and only three of Sane Time...but now, if this garbage passes, we get it all year- all over again.

For years I have left the clock in my truck on standard, normal, non-idiotic time...to comfort myself and hope that one day this lunacy would pass and go the way of the dinosaurs like it so assuredly needs to. But no, as with everything else in society today, the opposite of what is needed is what is happening.

I'd rather sight in a rifle at nine AM anyday, than at nine at night (when it should be DARK at any time of year!)

Rant off.

I can adjust and be happy with either one.  Pick one and stay with it.
Let's go Brandon!

If I ever had to move out of my home state, that has been my plan of where to go. Both for that reason and the hope it would ease my allergies.  8)
