P 10 S SR??
« on: April 15, 2022, 05:20:28 PM »
Is there an S model coming out that is suppressor ready? If I add a threaded barrel to an S model will it cycle correctly? I would assume it would cycle but I’m not sure what is included with the other suppressor ready pistols.

I have a C model in suppressor ready, and it works 100% I like having options though.

I thought the purpose of having a subcompact was for concealment. What's the purpose of  having a suppressor for a subcompact ?
I guess when you're not concealing it?
As I get older I think more practical.
Edit... I mean seriously when does the average person ever really have a need for a suppressor?
I'm not trying to be a smarta**.
Can someone with experience with suppressors explain this to me?
I've never shot a gun with a suppressor, I do understand what they do.

Since the barrel/slide length are less of a consideration when it comes to concealment, many people look for the threaded barrel on a subcompact to add a compensator, or just to have the extra barrel length for velocity. I am personally a fan of having a longer barrel with a shorter grip, since it's the grip that I worry about concealing. As for shooting with a suppressor, aside from being fun, it is an extra layer of hearing protection when shooting. It's part of the reason why suppressors are popular for hunting and for home defense rigs.

I've never understood it either but there are many things I don't understand.

Suppressors make shooting more user and bystander friendly, which is why they are mandatory in some countries. Also might be nice in a home defense setting, but on the street for CCW I would think they would be highly impractical. So, for me, the only reason I would see for a suppressor on a subcompact pistol is for "polite" range use, or simply so you can shoot without extensive hearing protection. On the other hand, there is always the cool factor, and why not? I doubt CZ will market one with a probably very low demand, but you never know.

I just read an article on barrel length and velocity and it stated that for every inch of barrel length you add you gain 20 to 25 FPS. That's hardly a game-changing increase in velocity for what you spend on an extension to a barrel.
