Hard Chrome CZ 83 from J&G

It isn't often you run across hard chromed CZ 83s like the current imported batch by J&G.  Picked up a couple and received a 2000 and 2001 in fantastic shape.  I assume CZ made special orders if the quantity was high enough, but does anyone have any information about these?

Are you sure it's hard chrome and not nickel?  It looks hard chromed from the picture, but they're small and I know CZ made nickel plated CZ83's because I have one.

Definitely hard chromed.  Much whiter color than my nickel CZ 83 from Israel, plus you can tell from the color in interior tight spaces where the hard chrome is not as complete.  I have to find a new image host as it just does thumbnails now.

What does it say on the slide under "CAL. 9 BROWNING"?

The standard for this age CZ 83 "MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC"
