Right side 85 Combat thumb safety

OP, did yours break?  Or was it just missing when you bought the pistol?

I ask because we've seen surplus/used/imported CZ85s that were ordered/made/sold without having the right side safety.  The frame is not machined for a right side safety.  Someone, somewhere, had a reason for ordering them made that way but they look funny.

Should be easy to see.  Is the hole in the frame on the right side larger than the shaft/end of the left side safety lever?  If so it could be missing the safety (some people don't like the right side safety and ask about removing it.

If the hole is the same size as the end of the left side safety shaft then a right side safety can't be installed anyway.

On the CZ85 the left side safety lever is different than the left side safety lever on the CZ75B or the CZ75 Compact, etc.  It's longer so it sticks out past the frame on the right side so the right side safety lever can have more surface area to fit on/keep it properly aligned and give it more strength if you use the right side lever to operate the safety.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

The 75b SA uses the same tumbler style thumb safety and I prefer the smaller 85 safety over the larger 75 SA safety. They just have not been in stock at CZC or CGW where they are at a reasonable price so I thought I would ask here.

Wow.  How did I respond to a thread and become the OP?

Easy. Start a discussion in someone's classified thread. Happens all the time, despite our requests to refrain from doing so. Most of them just get nuked, but if there's actual information in them, sometimes they get moved out of classifieds into the right forum.

I wasn't born in America, but I got here as fast as I could.

Sorry about that.  I didn't even realize it was want to buy/find thread.  I just wanted to make sure the guy wasn't trying to buy a right side safety for a pistol that didn't leave the factory with on in the first place.
