Walther P99 AS - First Shots
« on: June 02, 2022, 03:25:49 PM »
Purchased new yesterday. I did a little dry fire practice last night, ran a bore snake through the barrel and hit the range today.
25 rounds of Federal 115 grain FMJ, freestanding, outdoors from 5 yards. The protocol was 1 DA Shot, 1 SA Shot, Decock. Etc...
I really wanted to use my shot timer today for these double shots, but the 9 volt battery was dead.
The trigger and feel of this P99 AS is absolutely outstanding. I like it so much I'm probably going to order another one.

Congrats, nice pistol. My first pistol was an early od green P99 in.40, and the second was a P99AS like yours. I ended up selling/trading them both and moved on to CZ's. Very under appreciated in the US market, and really the first nice striker fired polymer trigger on the market. I prefer the paddle style mag release as well.

Very very Cool!  8)  Did not realize that Walther was still making these.

I have a Turkish Clone of the Walther P99 AS, a Canik TP9V1, and love it!  :)

Thanks guys! Yes, Walther is still making the P99 AS, mine is a CC (2022) model.

I came across this old Walther P99 video.

It was really too windy to shoot today, but I had the itch and went out. 25 rounds, freestanding from 8 yards in 21 mph wind gusts. The wind was moving me and the target, but I think it's good to practice in less than ideal conditions once in a while.
I'm still loving the Walther P99s. The 2nd one is still new in it's case.

Congratulations!!!  :)  Very very Nice!!!  8)

Probably a good thing to pick up the second one, as I understand that Walther has stopped production of the P99 series.  :(

Nice gun/shooting. I've owned a Walther PPS M2 for a few years and it's a great little gun for sure.

I love my P99c's. It a tough call for me between one of them and my CZ75 Compact or my PCR.

Superb pistol with a nice, gradual-stacking (and smooth) DA trigger, plus the SA.

Had the PTR-91 (HK clone) rifle bug not bitten Hard  , and had I not owned too many handguns, I gladly would have kept the Walther as an extra carry gun (in DA).

And these are Striker-Fired!  ???

A striker in DA/SA is very rare.
