LOL-  "I'd take a revolver over this thing" - me too.  The G43/48 would be my only glock, but I still think I'd get something else.

The only poly pistol I own is a KAHR CM9 - the trigger on that thing is stock and smoothest DAO trigger (that is metal, no safety dingus) I could find at the time. I wish CZ would make a micro alloy single stack that is hammer fired.
Imagine if they used the new 30SC in a double stack mag that was micro and hammer fired in poly/or alloy frame with the same style CZ slide...
They'd sell faster than bacon and eggs for breakfast. anyway...

I like Glocks, CZs, & Sigs.
I'm with you and add in HK. I have handguns from all four brands that I'd feel confident carrying in a GTW/SHTF/bugout/apocalypse situation.

One thing I like about Glocks is how easy they are to service. After all these decades, and so much more market competition, Gaston's design is still the easiest to work on.

I have never owned a Glock,  got four CZs. However, I  respect the reliability and when I shoot the ones owned by friends I shoot a good group.  It's also  hard to  tell a new gun owner that police departments across the country have chosen the incorrect firearm. I would not have made a negative statement about the neighbor's choice anymore than I would if I  preferred Ford and they had just bought a Toyota (or vice versa).
Just my opinion.

Spent a career wearing a badge. Not for nothing but what law enforcement agencies select often has less to do with what's best, and more to do with what things cost. Back in the day, we often ended up with Chrysler product squad cars for that very reason, and we often said "off to protect and serve, if low bid will just get us there". I think the pistols in question often cost less than other offerings.
It's not saving any water if you have to flush it over and over....

Gaston Glock’s genius was more in marketing than in engineering: he practically gave away Glocks to LEO agencies and militaries, knowing full well that the general public en masse would follow suit and blindly purchase whatever LEOs and soldiers were carrying. Ron Cohen at SIG probably does the same thing now, which would explain why SIG is winning so many contracts with the US Military recently.

It's funny to see how people react when they try the A01-LD after going on about the glock at our little range buffets here in the desert. To be fair, they are worlds apart as far as guns go but it is like a rainbow of joy seeing the look of... "holy cr*p I thought glocks were perfect. why did nobody ever tell me there were better guns out there?"

I just got an email that its time to renew my GSSF membership! - LOL put that in with the NRA junkmail. sticking with CZ, Ruger and GAO...
I still laugh about my instinctive disgust for them. I was shooting a 22rimfire match last week. The fake plastic safety guns were on the general range catch all table glowing in bright orange. I picked it up like a stinky bag of dog crap and handed it to my friend, making him accept it. I don't even like the fake ones. I wonder if they are still running matches on paper. I WOULD like to go see that actually.

I like Glocks for the safety standpoint of carrying

with one in the chamber.  Plus the fact that most

of the magazines are compatible with smaller

versions of the same caliber. ie

G17 mags in a G19

Gaston Glock was a genius. He found a way to make & mass produce an auto-loading pistol for poorly/semi trained personnel. Essentially Pvt. Pyle proof. He was first. And once it was discovered a police agency or military could issue pistols on the cheap, he was on his way.

I still hide my hopped up CZs in a glock bag. They shoot good but still suck comparatively. I wonder if they are still using paper scoresheets in 2023? Sounds like the bleeding edge of perfection to me.

They are. A buddy of mine was RO at one of their recent matches. He told me about it.

I have several Glocks.
G17.3, g34.4, g30.4,g20.4
My opinion
I like the grip angle.
The grip angle helps me control the muzzle flip.
The CZ doesn’t need that angle.
It has a low bore design.
The sig p320 has high bore design.
And a low grip
Angle.
I like the Springfield XDS,
Sig p365.
I also like to RSO Glock matches.
The shooters are very respectable.
It’s a good few days of fun with my friends and free lunch.
I have RSO other matches using electronic scoring.
It’s has its issues too.

Awesome. A few weeks ago I saw a you guy carrying mexican open like a bad ass. Walking around with sleeveless t shirt and all. I laughed out loud at his dumb bleep and his dumb poly gun.
Then there was another guy that no bleep wore a drop leg nylon holster at a kids softball game. I assumed it carried a nameless poly gun, but I wont count it as a glock specifically. It's a comical eye roll. I shivered at the thought that could have been me one day but hey at least he is open carrying. I personally love open carry. Anyway, glocks still suck and I won't waste a dime on them. But they do make good bags. I love their pistol bags.
