When I switched to RDS due to Old Eyes I rented a couple of guns at the range. It was great seeing the target and the sight at the same time once again. Installed some dovetail mounts on a 75B, a 97. Yes it takes a mag or 2 to get use to the sight alignment, but it’s only an issue if you are going to be constantly switching between RDS and nonRDS. Once you go down this path there is no looking back, only going towards the red dot light. This is the sad part for me; a shelf of great guns that are effectively obsolete. I also feel CZ has let me down by not jumping into this market. Yes they have optics ready guns (but no direct frame mount option) Yes they have tall sights. Did they put that together, No. Did they offer a model already set up with a RDS and cowitness sights, No. Left me out there guessing about sight alignments, who to use for mill job, waiting weeks or months for the mill job, and hoping that I can buy a set of sights before they go back out of stock for months at a time. That’s a long way of saying I bought a Sig 320 with all the bells and whistles that works like a champ right out of the box. Also no big issue with switching between my full-size CZ dovetail guns. I thought CZ might have jumped on the wagon by now but no. So now I will have a Canik full size on the night stand soon.
