P01 Omega front night sight dead again - aftermarket sights??

Does anyone know if there are sources out there for the suppressor height front night sight for the P01 Omega Urban Gray?

Mine died again.  First one failed after about 3 or 4 months (when I was shooting it more).  The replacement just sits, loaded, in a hidden spot in the house.  Never dropped, banged against stuff, etc. but the front sight went dark again.

I have not contacted CZ USA.  They might replace it (it's around 6 to 8 years old now) but I'm wondering how well these sights were made.  One is an accident, two is a coincidence.  Not sure I want to depend on a third one.

I've searched the internet several times and not found any specified for the suppressor ready Omega P01.

I would contact CZ for a warranty replacement, as they have had several issues with their sights changing to a dimmer color. I sent mine back and the replaced them.

Finally e-mailed CZ USA. 

They asked about the original sales paperwork and I finally found a file from the first "bad" sight repair and sent it to them.

They just sent me the return authorization e-mail and I printed up the label.

Last time they only wanted the slide.  Now they want the whole pistol with a magazine.  Man, I'd hate for that thing to get lost in shipping somewhere.  They don't make the suppressor ready P01 Omegas anymore do they?

I'm going to send it (they wanted it shipped in the original box but so far I've been unable to find it - I know I have it, somewhere) and insure the heck out of it.  I guess if it disappears I'll try to find one on line, if not then I'll just get another black one.

Sure hope this front night sight lasts.

Odd. CZ has never asked for me to send back with the mag. I take everything out of the plastic box before I ship it back.

When shipping your firearm to us, it is imperative to follow the guidelines listed below;

    The firearm must be completely unloaded with absolutely no ammunition present.
    The firearm must be safely packaged – preferably in its original box.
    The firearm must be sent through FedEx using only the label that was provided.
    You must send your entire firearm – unless we have explicitly stated otherwise.

Failure to follow any of these requirements will result in the refusal of your package.

Additional frequently asked questions;

    You may include any accessories you have on the firearm. Optics, lights, triggers, etc. We will function check our work with these included if applicable. We do not cover damage on accessories incurred from shipping.
    Include magazines you intend to use with the firearm. We require at least one, but if you do send more we will function check our work with all available magazines.
    We will keep you updated periodically during the RMA process. You should expect roughly one email contact a week while we are in possession of your firearm.
    You must send your entire firearm.

While reading through the e-mail again I did notice that the guy stated I could reply by e-mail with any questions I have to I'm going to ask about sending the whole pistol just for a front sight replacement.

We'll see what he says.

I've sent pistols back to CZ on three different occasions and never had any issue of any kind. No loss and no delay. All three times they wanted the entire pistol. Sounds like they want to be able to test fire the gun after the sight is changed. I think gun makers have been getting too many complaints across the board of sights being off the last few years given the number of newbies to the handgun world.

I had the same issue a while back.

I bought a P01 Omega UG/SR back a few years under the LE/MIL program. I went and picked it up from the FFL and that night noticed the fromt night sight was very dim. By the next day it was dead. CZ took back just the slide. They contacted me about 3 weeks later and said they were still waiting on new sights and I told them no rush. Three weeks later they called and said they still did not have sights and said they wanted to replace the entire gun with either the same model, or any other P01 model I wanted. They sent me another label to ship the frame to them. Then a week later I got a new gun (I picked the same model).

CZ will take care of you for sure. As for aftermarlet night sights, maybe Night Fision.

I've been unable to find the P01 box.  I've got it somewhere (can't find the black P01 Omega box either).  Putting the complete gun with a new 10 round magazine in a P07 box (found both of those) and taping a tag to the top/outside with my info and a copy of the return authorization barcode, etc. on it in case it confuses anyone to open a P07 labeled box and find a P01.

Should get it to the FedEx place in the morning for shipment.  N idea why the front sights are failing on this pistol.  It hasn't been shot in a few years now.  Just sits by the chair waiting, like a good guard dog.

It occurred to me this morning to ask if front sight failure is an issue on the other suppressor ready CZ pistols (P07, P09, SP01, CZ75 Omega, etc.  Anyone else besides me having failures of the front sight?

If you go aftermarket  - I highly recommend Trit Pros - especially the WHITE front - which is EASY to pick up and their front sight tritium is slightly brighter than the rear vials and helps you not get 'dot mixup'.  Also the rear is serrated and NO dots for the day - TONS better than other sights.  And... they are HALF the price of Night Fission and better.

I wouldn't send them an out of production pistol to replace an 8yr old front sight. I would rather pay out of pocket for aftermarket. Hope it works out for you.

Yeah, dropped it off and FedEx Friday morning.  It left here, went to another state and then left going to "CZ-USA" with a projected delivery date of 8/30/22.

I hated sending it.  I just never found any suppressor height night sights for it.  Just wouldn't look right.  Does anyone know of a company making suppressor height night sights for the P01 pistols?

If it get's lost I'll have to dig one of the Compacts out of the safe while I search for a replacement.  Or go a different route.

Got an e-mail from CZ-USA telling me they've received the pistol and it may be 4 to 6 weeks before it's repaired.

They say they'll e-mail me weekly with a status report, they'll e-mail me when the work is completed, and I should get an e-mail with a tracking number the next day after the work completed e-mail.

You know, the big old P09 .40 fit right into the hidey hole the P01 Omega usually occupies.  I wasn't sure it would.  That P09 just feels/looks huge.  It's the one my wife tried to appropriate a few years back.  She picked it up, aimed at the bullseye 10 or 12 yds. away and on her first shot that 135 grain Nosler mostly obliterated the X in the center.  She turned and grinned at me and said, "I like this pistol, it shoots real good."  Had to buy that shiny satin nickel CZ75 Compact to keep my .40 P09.

Got an e-mail last week - no change to status.

Got an e-mail yesterday telling me they've fixed it.  They're shipping me a replacement pistol. 

Really?  Really?  A swap of pistols for a bad front night sight? 

I guess they have no stock of or ability to obtain the SR front sights any longer.  That will do two things.

1.  No more SR pistols from CZ
2.  It looks like the next time it goes dead (if there is a next time) I'll have to either go with black SR height sights or non suppressor height sights.

I thought it was funny they test fired it (with Magtech ammo) even though it should have been test fired at the factory in the the Czech Republic.

How do you make a profit replacing a $65 sight with a $700 pistol?

Oh well, hopefully this front sight lasts longer than the last two.

Not mad.  Just curious about the thought process behind it (or if they really don't have access to replacement night sights for that pistol and the others that use them.

Waiting on another e-mail to further explain how they'll get the replacement pistol to me.
