Unable to remove P07 decocker
« on: July 28, 2022, 10:34:55 PM »
I’m in the middle of installing the CGW short reset package on my P07 decocker model. Almost everything has gone smoothly, but I’m stuck on the part where I remove the decocker. It sounds easy… just pull the hammer back, push down on the ejector, pull on the left side of the decocker, and it should just “pop right out” (according to numerous YouTube videos I watched). Except in my case, that doesn’t happen. The left decocker lever moves about 1mm and refuses to budge after that.

Does anyone have any ideas for things to try before I send the gun to CZ for repair? (Gunsmiths are not an option in my local area; I only found one who was willing to take on new work, and he’s already booked until next year.)

Hey PistolNewbie

I had the very same issue I think. I ended up taking a tool to assist. After you get the decocker 1mm out (not fully seated), take a tool that won’t scratch and push on the inside of the decocker out. That’s while pushing the ejector down and all that.

This is what worked for me. I simply used a small screwdriver and it was able to overcome whatever it was stuck on. After I got it loose once, I installed the manual safety and I’ve never had a problem since.

Let us know if that helped you.

Thanks!

^ agree with advice.  You need to mash the ejector down while pushing on the left-side decocker lever from the inside of the frame until it gets past a certain point, then it easily just comes right out.  Using a non-marring tool like the tip of your polymer cleaning rod that came with your pistol is the best idea.

And don't lose that little spring for the decocker.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I ended up needing to use a pair of pliers. I destroyed the decocker, but I know where to get a new one. What a pain…

Thanks for the helpful suggestions!
