4 pound trigger from the factory

i bought a bnib pcr saturday. took it to the range same day and shot 100 rounds. brought it home, cleaned and lubed it. since saturday i have been doing some dry fire practice.  this is all that has been done. i took it to my local gun shop today to check the pull weight before i do any internal polishing. average was just over 4 pounds single action and 8.5 pounds double action.  some reports ive read online are showing 5-6# and 10-12# respectively. i still plan to polish the action just to smooth things up.

is cz making them different these days?

Some come from the factory better than others. I’ve got a 75 stainless that was glass smooth ,light trigger and no creep. Then I had a sp01 that took lots of polishing and parts to get a nice trigger. Although when you get into the shadow 2 they  seem to be better

They make a lot of internal parts.  There are specs for them the parts should meet.  Inspection is supposed to insure the parts are as close to identical as possible but things vary - within the specs.

Then all these parts, with small variations in dimensions, get put together to make the pistol.  Some parts fit/work together better than other parts.

My P07 DUTY (plastic frame) came out of the box with around a 3.25 lb. SA trigger pull and around 8.25 DA trigger pull.  After a few years of shooting and installation of some CGW springs the SA is right at 3 lbs. now,

Congratulation on getting a pistol with a nice trigger right out of the box.  Not everyone does.

this weekend i installed the mcarbo spring kit with floating trigger pin. i also polished alot of the internals, not everything though. the trigger weight only dropped half pound sa and one pound da. trigger is soooo much smoother now.

It is just general knowledge that CZ handguns can have very different triggers from the factory. Sounds like you have a great base trigger to start with, so some minor polishing will do wonders. If it is that good from the factory, just shooting it and letting it wear in may just be the ticket as well.

You got a great one - be happy.  CZ triggers are all over the map.  Some can be excellent OTB - others can frankly stink.  If you like the breaks, I'd just shoot the crap out of it.

Some CZ pistols are great out of the box, but the majority of mine definitely need trigger love.
