CZ Handgun Prices - Post Chicom Virus
« on: August 26, 2022, 10:22:01 AM »
So... I seem to remember when before the CCV you could nail a P01 for less than $500 on occasion (there was a ton of them for this price at one point), and even during the CCV you could acquire them easily for the high 5s to low 6s.

Now they START at the high 6s and people are paying more and more.

The same goes for the other hammer guns.

I think this is a disproportionate hike against other guns.  And... the P10 line is NOT as price competitive as it once was.

Just sayin.  ( I guess the Colt purchase was expensive).

inflation?  price of raw materials has increased?  shipping costs increased?  seller’s raising prices to cash in on panic buyers?

I paid $850 for my p01. Then 2 months later saw it at another gun store for $780. In MA it’s either at retail or above. If it’s not on the roster, then it’s definitely $100-200 above retail.

When there was a surge in gun buying at the beginning of the pandemic, prices spiked up.  They are coming down again now.  You can get a P01 for about $600 today.

I should mention that I bought my p01 3 months ago, and last month it was $780. Different states have different prices.

Checking the CZ website, the shadow 2 went up by around $200. Just a few months ago it was around $1200ish retail, now it’s $1455 retail. The optics ready version went up by $20 or so.

CZ's used to be a value, even with the required trigger work and associated cost. Sadly, quality seems to have declined while prices have drastically increased.

CZ has gone up and so has everyone else. Pre-plandemic you could snag an S&W Shield on sale and with the S&W rebate you'd have a new piece for under $250. Those days are gone. Don't forget forget CZ has to ship most of these guns across the pond. Springfield has hiked the XD line a considerable amount too compared to where they were before. HK isn't exactly cheap now and never really were.
I personally couldn't care less what gun prices have risen to I have what I need and see nothing on the horizon that interests me at this point. Maybe make a trip to the grocery store, home improvement store, so on and compare what those prices have risen to compared to guns. There is no comparison.
Our grocery bill is up 45% on average compared to what it was pre-plandemic  along with fuel and utility costs which are up by 30-50%. From where I'm standing guns are still relatively cheap.

I found a place with very reasonable CZ prices. I will share my source after I purchase the ones I want.   ;)

welcome,

i guess you live on the edge of town and just got the memo...

but depending on where you live, you maybe able to find some so-so deals.  If they are as cheap as you wish/want, will be the question.

good luck

Well it seems like the SP01 and especially the Calif legal variant has been ' scarce' for min a year.
Any online venues that have it are priced high.
Most have remained out of stock.

Quality wise the sp01 2021 model I bought last year has great quality. Better certain  internal part smoothness than my 2014 85C

Paid retail for it as listed on the factory site.
CZ 85 Combat, NRA Lifer.

MSRP on the two standard Shadow2 models went up about 7.5% from 2021 to 2022.

2021 msrp = $1359, that's not $1200ish
2022 msrp $1455

Just fyi. That's fairly normal. Many manufacturers go up 3%-5% in a normal year. Throw in all the supply chain and other factors from 2020 on and 7.5% isn't so bad. Other models are worse, some are better.

It's not so much that MSRP rose sharply, it's that dealers stopped charging below MSRP.

Glad I purchased my $750K house back when I paid $160K

Should have purchased five additional '70 Porsche 911's back in the day----------

Don't understand the angst and will not ever.
