CZ Scorpion 3 Plus Charging Issues
« on: September 01, 2022, 10:26:12 PM »
Good evening... first off I'm sorry if this has been asked, I'm a new Scorpion owner.  I bought a Evo 3 Plus and had an issue with it today.  I cooked it back and went to close the bolt with the HK slap but the charging handle came down and only went a 5th of the way and was loose in that I could move it back and forth a 5th of the way back into the up position.  Is that because maybe it was charged/cocked while on safety and I need to put it on fire in order for the bolt to close?  I called CZ and they said to disassemble it and reassemble it.  Thanks for the help guys and girls.

The manual says not to cock the gun on “safe” and it is palpably more difficult to try to cock it on “safe” than on “fire,” so you probably shouldn’t do that much, or at all. I mean, I may do it inadvertently every once in a while, but I try not to make a habit of it. There’s a rather flimsy plastic pin holding the charging handle on, so maybe that got knackered up some way or another?

Is this hanging up when you’re actually chambering a round or when you’re just racking the bolt on an empty chamber? It may be that your gun doesn’t like chambering that particular ammunition or your gun is dirty…I would do as CZ suggested, disassemble, examine the parts for damage, clean, lube and reassemble and see how it works…and don’t try to cock it on “safe” anymore.
