Sell P10C for a P-07?
« on: September 18, 2022, 02:50:03 PM »
Hi all,

Been a while since I logged on.

I have a CZ P10C FDE w/ trit sights that I've owned for several years now. It's a good shooter, accurate, easy to clean/disassemble, I have 5 mags for it and it has been extremely reliable over ~4,000 rounds. It's been polished, HBI trigger, CGW striker/guide rod, and range proven.

I hate the beaver tail though. Every time I go to the range with it, after a few hundred rounds My first thumb knuckle is raw from rubbing. The stock and HBI trigger both occasionally bite me too.

I'm sitting here fiddling with my friends P-07 and it has zero of the issues with the beaver tail since nothing contacts that spot on my thumb. I'm not sure about trigger bite as I haven't shot it yet.

I'm seriously considering trying to sell my P10C for a P07 and keep it simple with just a spring kit. Any thoughts on that swap?

It really is a "do what works for you" situation.  If the P07 fits your hand better then go for it.

You could also try a Hogue grip sleeve for the P10C.
CZ Shadow 2 OR  - DPP, Armanov Grips, Toni Frame Weight + Thumb Rest
CZ P-10 C - CZC OR Upper, Romeo1Pro
Volquartsen Black Mamba 6" - Romeo1Pro, Ruger Target Grips
Glock 20 Gen 4 - Lone Wolf Threaded Barrel + Comp

I agree, do what works for you.

Do recommend shooting your buddy’s gun first to confirm the P07 works and you aren’t trading one problem for another.

For me, I’d keep the P10c and save for a P07.  But that’s me, I know the P07 would work for mr based on my P09 :)

Go for it I say! I wanted a P10 and finally squeezed one out of a buddy @ a fair price. As you state, very accurate, easy to carry,, and all the normal goodies. I also swapped out the trigger for the CGW along with the striker etc along with whatever little parts came with the kit, turned it into a "better" gun than the stock version for sure. When it was all said and done it still bit my trigger finger and in general it was just an extra gun that I decided I didn't need anymore so down the road it went! For "ME" the 07 is just a better feel & fit and just as accurate if not more so. Before you jump shoot the 07 a fair amount if your friend will share and then decide, I will say I do not recall any trigger bite or slap with my 07. For me I sold the P10 and never had a 2nd though ! Keep us posted on what you decide.  :)

Do you like firing at least the first round in DA, and are committed to running it that way or do you prefer cocked and locked ?

I prefer no safety and to carry decocked. No issues with DA/SA.

I will say that I've only ever carried striker guns, but I've also never truly been happy with any of them with any number of mods. (G43, G19G5, XDSM2, P10C)

It comes donw to if yu are good with switching to DA/SA or SAO from striker fired. I do know what you mean ont he ergos of the P07. Many guns dig into my first thumb knuckle. However, the P07 & P09 have a beaver tail that is perfectly shaped for my hands and nothing compares to it. If you are looking to buy a new P07 I think now is the time. There is a local shop to me that has now reduced them to $419 and with the CZ rebate that is a smoking deal.

I DO think the P07 is extremely easy to shoot well - in fact, I am thinking that it is a level easier than the P01 - even though that doesn't seem intuitive.

I might start a thread, but just listened to someone review the P10F and said that the P07 has less muzzle flip.  Interesting.  A hammer gun is a different animal.

I have both. I am a self proclaimed “advanced beginner”. I get the same effect after a few hundred rounds on my p10c. I agree that, for me, the p-07 ergonomics feel better. That being said, I shoot the p10c better.

I always found that to be an interesting sentiment because based on the grip pattern/beavertail, you should be able to get much higher up on the P10C and closer in line to the bore axis.

I'm currently waiting on a  CGW built SP-01 (I've wanted one for years). When that comes in maybe it will give me some insight to grip comparisons between the P-07, P-01, and the P10C. Might as well start a collection.

I have both. Both recent acquisitions. First impressions being what they are, mine are below.

I've done the springs and some polishing on the P07, so in dryfire it's pretty nice vs. the stock trigger. I just recently installed the Apex kit in the P10C, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

With the stock trigger, I shoot the P10C much more accurately than the P07 in single action. It's hard to explain how much better I'm shooting the P10C.

If I were to sell one today, it'd be the P07. It's so nice to dryfire in SA, but on the range it's just not working. Which is strange because my 75 in SA is a laser. To me, the P10 shoots slightly softer and quite a bit flatter due to how high I can get on the gun, but it's much more accurate for me also.

I had the opposite issue to the OP.  P10 fits me very well (and is the only striker-fired gun I get along with) while the P07 shot great but I pinched my pinky frequently when inserting a mag.  Go with whichever works/fits you best!

I’ve never performed as well with the P10C’s i’ve shot as I have with the P07’s I’ve shot. I think the grip ergonomics on the P10 series are slightly to narrow for me especially at length of pull. I also prefer hammer fired pistols my P09/P07/P01 are among m favorites to shoot.
