712 Waterfowl plug length and material
« on: January 13, 2023, 08:01:53 AM »
I purchased a 712 first generation without a Waterfowl plug. Can anyone help me with the appropriate length and what material the original plug was made out of ?  Thanks. Ken

In Georgia, it doesn't matter who made the plug or what the material is. Just as long as you can only get the legal number of shells loaded.

I have hunting buddies that have a No.2 pencil in there !

Michigan too. The reason I’m asking is I can’t figure out how to install a homemade one. I can’t find any information on how to open the Gen one tube. It looked like it could use a dowel like my mossbergs but when I tried that the dowel falls all the way down into the chamber.  There is no groove only a hole to push down on like the newer models I’ve googled.
