New P01 Omega
« on: October 03, 2022, 11:12:11 PM »
Got it today. Once home, I gave it a quick clean on lube and headed to the pasture. I fired 105 trouble free rounds of my reloaded 115 grain jhp. Single action pull is 3 lbs 8-10 ounces and great. If the double action pull had no stacking, it would be great at 9 lbs 8-10 ounces. Not as good as my Shadow 2, but still good. I’m hoping with a little use, the stacking will get better. It has already improved some.

Only thing I’m not liking is the sights. I have to cover target with the white dot and I prefer a 6 o’clock hold. The dot’s white paint is terrible. I have some good white sight paint that I may use to cover the front white dot.

Overall, I’m well pleased with it. Very accurate when I do my part.

Congrats, I got a P01 Omega shortly after they came out ( 2016 IIRC) .  One of my favorite guns.  Mine is enhanced with CGW goodness and a FO front sight.  I blacked out the dots on the rear sight.  I left mine as a decocker as that’s my preference.

Enjoy and report back

Thanks. I plan to soon replace the sights. I have considered CGW parts but I’m undecided. The single action pull is perfect. The double action pull is somewhat worse than the pull weight but has improved considerably. The stacking has improved and a little more improvement it will be good but naturally not as good as my Shadow 2. What battles me is that the P 01 pull is only 1 1/4 lb more than my Shadow 2. It just seems more. I’m going to check and compare the trigger widths to see if there’s much difference.

I’ve just checked and the Shadow 2’s trigger is wider than the P 01’s. I believe that’s the difference I’m feeling between the two other than the pull weight difference.
