Interesting Czech Republic Video
« on: October 31, 2022, 10:39:18 AM »
Interesting video I stumbled upon. Talks about general gun culture and rights in the Czech Republic and how it is so different from Europe. The outlook is for self defense and they also touch on defending from an invasion and/or tyranical government which falls in line with our 2A rights. Very happy to see they have so many gun rights over there.

Some of the guns that make an appearance are CZ, Glock, S&W, Beretta, DD and Arex.

Great video! It's a breath of fresh air to see people in a foreign country enjoying their freedom to own & carry firearms. The folks in the Czech Republic apparently have even more liberty in some ways than I do as a USA citizen in Connecticut! A fully loaded G19 magazine with 15 live rounds has been a very rare sight indeed for almost a decade.

I had saved the link to this video and finally got around to watching it.

Being a Texan of Czech-descent it makes me proud that my European distant relations are keeping the Right alive.
I found their statistics of having less violent crime per capita than other EU and western very encouraging.

Thanks for posting!

post-script...I understand that while English may not be their second language, it would be nice to hear them speak in an enthusiastic fashion instead of quiet monotone.

Some stats from a screenshot of a post by the Police of (the) Czech Republic earlier this year.  Total country population of around 10.8 million. The other is a common study guide. The width of the book can be seen from another copy on the right.

Firearms are very strictly regulated in the Czech Republic in comparison to much of the U.S., but restrictions are not as tight as in some or most other European countries.  I lived there for 16 years with Czech residency, and never pursued a license because it was so difficult.  Psychological evaluations were required (at the time ... early 1990's until the early 2000's), and beyond the tests there were other legal hoops to jump through.  When I visited a few years back, the CZ store in Prague wouldn't even let me handle a displayed and unloaded firearm unless I had a Firearm License.
