Trigger
« on: December 02, 2022, 03:51:48 PM »
Today was the first time I was able to shoot my new Evo3 S1. It was great and so fun to shoot. But man, that trigger is hideous! I ordered the HBI spring kit when I ordered a larger charging handle. I have heard it doesn't do that much but anything will help, especially at how cheap the springs are. From those with experience, do you stick with the kit or upgrade eventually to a new trigger like the Timney? Thanks.

I have the 3+ micro. I thought about going with spring kit, but in the end found the Timney on sale and decided to go with it. I am not at all disappointed! The trigger installed easily and performs amazingly well!

Take a look at the ShootingSight trigger - it is a 2 stage trigger, so a really nice upgrade.

It counts as 3 parts - sear, hammer, disconnector, and is designed for you to add your own trigger bow, either the factory one that is on your gun, or a US made option, which would count as 4 parts.

I put the one from Ascalon Arms in, 2lb pull, flat trigger shoe and is a drop in. My only issue with the switch out was the oem trigger pack screw is soft as hell and the head stripped easily. Luckily the trigger pack comes with a replacement.

I have the timney v2 and I’d say it’s definitely worth the upgrade. Especially if you can find one under the $200 range

I did all the usual upgrades & polishing when that's all there was. As soon as Timney brought out theirs I put one in. Absolutely a world of difference.  Now that they have a flat version I just installed that one. I'm partial to flat face triggers.
Now I have to offer up the curved version.
