I hope not!   Just got a call from my local gun shop and my 550 Full Stock 6.5X55 is in.  I'll pick it up this Saturday and maybe sleep with it Sat. night.

I handload and I will be working up loads for my 550 and my M70 in 6.5x55 in a month or two.  I am all snowed in right now.  For now, all I am doing is fireforming my brass and waiting for some of this darn snow to melt.
I look forward to swapping data with you!

The 6.5x55 is an excellent general hunting round.  You will be happy with it.

Good shooting.

Load A, 3 shots = 0.687
Bullet: Nosler BT, 120 gr
Primer: WLR
Case: Winchester, FL resize
Powder: Hodgdon, Varget 38.6
COL: 3.100 (-0.03 off lands)

Load B, 3 shots = 0.932
Bullet: Sirrra, Game King, 140 gr
Primer: WLR
Case: Winchester, FL resize
Powder: Hodgdon, Varget 36.0
COL: 3.035 (-0.035 off lands)

Both shoot very well in mine.  Sorry to be so long to answer, this board is so DEAD I do not check it often, looks like it is a LITTLE warmer!

Mark,

Thanks for the load data.  Let us know how the loads do in the field.  Since I do not have an FS, I have wondered how weather conditions effect accuracy.  As you used your FS post your results.

Good hunting.
