First day with Czech 70
« on: December 04, 2022, 09:06:12 PM »
Didn't think to take pix, but today at Wooster Mountain I put 100 rounds through a Czech 70 I bought over the summer from the Mosin Crate. I was afraid I had bought a paperweight because my gunsmith had trouble getting it to fire (upon close inspection he found the sear had been filed down making the piece inoperable. Once he replaced it, voila, but I still needed to test it at the range).  Finally got there today. I had been warned about FTE's, but a member here recommended Sellier & Bellot. Of the 100 rounds, I had around 5 FTE's. Not sure whether that will mean another visit to the gunsmith, but for now, I'm pleased.

Those little guns have a lot going for them, including features not found on more expensive pistols! I had a few back in the day, and they were quite good. As for FTE, have you checked for gunk under the xtractor?

A buddy of mine used to have one. It was cool, great choice.

Nice job. Never had the privilege to shoot one yet. From your report sounds like a fun gun to shoot.
