I'm eyeing a brand new Rami at local FFL
« on: December 20, 2022, 01:14:46 PM »
I'm thinking of grabbing a new Rami for sale around $650 from a local FFL... Not sure what year it is- forgot to check but it should be recent since it's in pristine condition It's an alloy frame safety version and doesn't have night sights :-\  A couple of questions:

-Are there any issues with the Rami or anything I should know of or ask questions about? I own a PCR and P-01 but not familiar with the Rami.

-What's the best quality night sight sets still available for this?

Thanks so much!

CGW has tritium sights and CZC carries Trijicon tritium sights for a few $ more.

Recoil springs are a regular wear item and I have seen recommendations to replace every 500 rounds (I keep a couple spares, they are cheap).

Some have reported feed issues, one theory is the short slide cycles faster than the magazine can feed rounds.  I have full size cz 75 +10% magazine springs in all my mags (10 & 14 round) and do not have any issues.

I had feed issues with some JHP rounds where the HP would catch on the edge of the feed ramp. This occurred for me only with self defense rounds that have a slightly shorter OAL (Sig V crown and Hornady critical defense).  Federal HST and Gold Dots feed without issues in mine.

Overall I love my 2075 B and carry ir frequently in rotation with my PCR.

Great. Thank you!

Must be a bear to hand load with those full size mag springs. I wonder why the Rami was discontinued?

So these CZC sights would work together for POI?

How are the Trijicons better? Brighter or last longer or both? Thx again.

Those sights should fit fine and not alter POI. I don’t have any personal experience with those sights, just had been doing research as considering changing mine. Mine has adjustable rear/fixed front sights that have some glow but not super bright. It is an older Rami and came that way from the prior owner. They are high viz and work fine for me but I worry about snagging the adjustable rear.  I did not like the cz sights that came on my PCR and replaced those with Dawson night sights which I love but don’t think they have ones to fit the Rami.

As to why it was discontinued — who knows.  From what I have heard the Rami in 40 S&w had issues and they also had a polymer framed Pami P. May have had something to do with expanding their polymer/striker fired pistols? As I said, I love mine and glad I was able to find one from someone I know and trust at a fair price (those GB prices are crazy!).

Id jump on it while you can.  I second the Cajun sights.  Also get a few extra recoil springs.  They are known to wear out a little more quickly than the average gun.

Oh yeah. I see new Ramis on GB being sold for around $1000... or at least trying.  And the ones for bid have too many bidders and get carried away with the price. lol. I bought my new P-01 from Gunbroker in 2020 but the price was somewhat decent at $650.

I know. I should. Just wanted to check. How many times did I react to something quickly and then have regrets.  I saw the price tag and tried not to show excitement because of the prices on GB. Bad thing, is, here in NJ, I need to get a permit first. I can have the FFL hold it for me for a down payment until the permit is approved. My last permit (P-01) for a handgun took a little over 2 weeks.

So what do I look for before I buy it? Check the finish, rack the slide? The barrel in the ejection port looks flawless.. no coating wear.

Unlike nearly all other CZ75 variants, which take the standard CZ pinned “front to back” front sight, the Rami uses the standard side to side Novak cut dovetail. The Rami uses its own profile rear dovetail, but it will take standard non-step down rear sights (e.g.: for the P-O1). I would get Trijicon night sights and avoid the crappy Meprolight ones like the plague - the bases are made of cheap, soft metal and the tritium vials are extremely fragile.

Actually, these days I would have the slide cut for your favorite red dot sight.

Cool thanks.  Maybe some day with the red dot.

Just look for the usual.  I always take down used guns and give a visual inspection to make sure there are no glaring issues.  If it is a range, they may let you test fire it since it is technically used…unless they are selling it as unfired of course.  I think the Rami makes a nice addition to the carry lineup with the 10 round mag.  The 14 puts it too close to the P01 and PCR but since you are in NJ, thats a moot point.  At least you guys can now carry!

Thanks. Yeah but they make the process to get permit to carry a royal PITA to discourage people.  It's brand new in the display case.. looks brand new anyway. I would think they have the boxes /cases in the back with all that comes with it. Yeah, 2 10rd mags. He tried to tell me it had night sights, but it doesn't. lol. Ramis with the safety doesn't have night sights.. only decocker Ramis do.

I thought hollow points were illegal in New Jersey. I think I’d opt for something in .45 ACP if I was limited to ball ammo.

Hollow points may be illegal to carry with a permit to carry in NJ, unless the laws changed recently. But they're legal for self defense at home and at the range.

RAMI  9mm is a fine pistol (10+1 flush or 14+1 extended). It's lighter and more easily concealed than the CZ75  Compact (14+1).

Here's my track on it, all prices are from completed Gunbroker auctions:

CZ RAMI 2075 Pistol in 9x19 – Manual Safety.
Blue Book of Gun Values (41st Edition) indicates between $450 in 95% condition and $595 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 87 recorded prices for this model gun from $340 to $1526 over a period of 6 Yrs 11 Mos ending December 15, 2022. The average price over that period is $611. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. Adjusted to two magazines. No distinction for import location or engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $699. The last 18 prices I have for this model since 1/1/2022 range from $586 to $1526 averaging $830. Prices seem to be increasing.
