22lr for older TS?
« on: January 02, 2023, 01:31:15 PM »
Hi all!

I have a TS (non 2) in 40 that I used to use for IPSC over 10yrs ago. Just recently my wife’s taken an interest to shoot and I wanted to ease her in by shooting 22lr. Is there a reliable conversion kit out there that I can purchase?

I did see the kadet 2 kit which looks great. But the fine print says it will not work on the TS.

Does anyone know if there’s anything I can do to make it work? Last round bolt hold open isn’t a requirement for me.

Thanks!

Too my knowledge they do not make a Kadet kit for the Tac Sport. I'm sure you can put a SP01 or Shadow II kit on it, but the dust cover will be longer than the slide and the mags will be too small to work in the TS. Unfortunately, CZ no longer makes the Kadet II but still makes the SP01 and Shadow kit. If you can find a SP01 kit it will work on a standard 75b frame. Problem is the plastic mags do not work well with that frame and you would have to get the metal Kadet II mags.

If your wife is thinking about shooting you might want to take her to the gun store and hold the Shadow it is on the heavier side she might like the SP01 better. The Sp01 is lighter and has a smaller grip. If she likes the SP I would suggest keep the TS for you and buy her the SP01 and get the Kadet kit for it so when she moves up to 9mm you won't be losing a gun because you know it will be her shooter.
