My Scorpion clearly says "Made in Czech Republic."  I don't know if manufacturing or assembly has moved here.  In any event, it's the number of foreign parts that matter, not necessarily the place of assembly.  As for the Bren, you can buy a 922r compliance kit to bring it into compliance.  Not cheap, and ridiculously annoying to have to do this.  But that's where we are.

No, as it relates to 922r and the eligibility/legality of what the BATF has redefined as an SBR, PLACE and PARTY/PERSON of assembly is all that matters -- the 922r crime is in the "assembly" and "assembly" has been broadly defined by the BATF in the past...  This is specific to foreign-made/imported pistols, but beyond that, that it was produced in the Czech Republic is irrelevant.

I was referring to its place of assembly as a pistol as being irrelevant for purposes of determining whether putting a brace on now to create a now-defined SBR was illegal.  I think we are in agreement.
