Wilson AR9 has a shorter chamber than my shadow 2
« on: January 22, 2023, 04:15:10 PM »
Just figured I would let folks know, When working with a friend to make some ammo for his Wilson AR9.  I found that different brand bullets had to be seated deeper than for my shadow 2.

So, it looks like CZ isn’t the only one with a short chamber.

No, they aren't alone any more !!

A lot of the older Berretta pistols, all the Springfield Croation-made striker guns, almost anything with a "Match Barrel", and plenty more. And you're going to see a lot more of it in the future since more people are putting a premium on accuracy. There's even a world of difference between the Glock Gen 1 and Gen 5.

I think it's the popularity of Action Pistol games, plus the new emphasis on ergonomic grips. What's the use of having a pistol that "fits like a glove" if you still can't hit anything?

Got an Apex barrel in the M&P 2.0 5" FDE 9MM.

I was working up loads for it one day with some 124 grain hollow points and different powders and left it in the house.  I was carrying my black P01 Omega.  I unloaded, it, field stripped it and used the barrel from it.  You know, 'cause CZ's are short in the chamber.  Figured it they chambered in the P01 they'd be fine in the M&P.  Got the die seat up and loaded the ammo.  Went to the range a few days later and the ammo wouldn't chamber in the Apex barrel.  Oh well.  The Apex is shorter chambered than the CZ P01 and still not as accurate as the CZ.

The P01 didn't like any of that ammo either (on paper).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

WOW - thanks for all the responses.   I didn't realize so many manufactures are shortening up their chambers.
