I'm sad to say I have no field experience with Meopta scopes, I always had an aversion to them due to their steel body(old Weawer's were also constructed this way)
. During big game hunting I hunt all season long, this period is bleeped by extreme harsh enviroment: day-in & day-out rain, thus I was afraid for RUST on the scope body. I know I should wipe humidity off...bla-bla-bla and so-on, it is my firm belief that a rifle should be as care-free as almost it accessories(scope, rings, etc.). This is why it would be my dream come true if CZ made a S.S.of their CZ-550 Magnum; and now that it exist I could scope it with an aluminum bodied Meopta

. Ever since I've owned a 30 mm. tube I HIGHLY

recommend this size scope due to its simpler internal optics(less parts/less chance of mechanical failure.`
Once the CZ-550 series rifle has had a trigger-job(simple adjustment, no hand polishing) it's almost impossible to get a better trigger. These triggers make the Brno ZKK-600 series trigger pale(ultra-white) in comparaison(still made out of steel). Some smiths or do-it yourselfers will make these go ultra-light which is dangerous in any trigger due to springs natural ability to loose their tension after years of use, thus rendering a ultra-light to a BANG-OOOOPPPS! trigger.
The set-trigger in a d.g.r. should be put higher than an ordinary big game rifle or flinching will develop very early by most owners. Have you tried the new trigger?
I've owned Sako's &Timney's trigger equiped rifles & I seriously prefer by far the CZ's. One of the worst trigger which I've seen was the Parker-Hale: bad cheaply made aluminum casting with a bad design to boot.
All the best,
Fred
