Thanks guys.
SoCal - that’s what I thought, which is why I was surprised, and brought my issue here.

Break Free is the spray I have for the hard to reach places. Hoppes for swabbing the bore.
I’ll see how it goes from here!

I still have some Nu-Finish leftover from either my dad or fil. I usually use meguiars on the cars, so that’s what I used here. Much easier to wipe off and buff out - no matter how long it sits.

I always disassemble and clean my handguns and mags after each range visit.  I clean them using Breakfree CLP, and I have not had any issues over several years.

You've got more dedication than I do.  Cleaning 3 to 5 pistols and sometimes a couple AR15 is okay and I sort of enjoy it.  Stripping and cleaning/lubing 12 to 15 magazines or more would really add to the time/tired factor at the end of the day.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Finally made it back to the range.
96 rounds of the Federal AE 124 FMJ’s without a hitch!
Mags were so easy to fill after the clean-n-wax job.
I’m convinced the failures were caused by the grimy extractor.
Thanks, everyone, for pointing me to it.

1SOW's cleaning/waxing advice has helped another new guy.

I did a bunch of the Shield Plus 13 and 15 round magazines a couple weeks ago and I could absolutely feel the difference in how easy the rounds slid down inside them (till I got to that last round or two.)

If I get wet (sweat, rain or back splash from high pressure washing) I can take the pistol out of the holster, drop the magazine and wipe it off with a paper towels and it looks so shiny/blue that it looks like a freshly wiped down magazine done with an oily cloth.  I've only waxed one whole gun and that it that big XD Service .45 acp with the 5" barrel.  Shiny stainless slide just asked for wax one day (actually the day I waxed the stainless steel magazines.)

@EndangeredSpecies

Happy to see you found the fix! I'm the guy from the TS2 thread you mentioned, I think I also fixed mine. I don't have the exact answer, it comes down to three things (at least that's what I'm thinking right now) - polishing the feed ramp, changing from thick to thin oil and cleaning the mags. I didn't wax them, but I used a DuPont teflon-based spray (which I use on my guns for rust prevention). Shot 300 rounds yesterday without a hangup. Additionally, the gun feels much smoother when chambering a round. Maybe it was the mags for both of us, who knows :)

Took it back to the range Monday night. Another 96 rounds through, but this time Blazer 124gr FMJ.
Ran great - no problems.

Disassembled, cleaned, lubed with recommended synthetic 0w-20 motor oil.
Ran 10 snapcaps through it by hand, and it felt better than ever - very "snappy."
Out of Blazer and Federal target rounds - looks like next time it'll be some Match-grade 110gr JHP's (Koenig Competition, I believe.)
Finger's crossed - but I'm no longer worried.
Just checking the extractor closely for gunk buildup.

Good news, good news.

We like good news.

But, where are those target pictures? 8)

I turn 'em in at the end of each night for scoring! They don't give 'em back.
Nothing to write home about - typically 420-440 out of 480.
Now that she's running right and broken in, I need to bring out the bench rest and get the sights sorted. But even that won't help too much for the 25yd relays.

Ran 96 rounds for federal through it a couple more times. Still running strong.

Tried a box of the Koenig Competition 110 JHPs. Went off without a hitch.

I did notice the 110 JHPs hit about 1" left and 1" high (at 7 yds, off a rest), whereas the Federal 124 FMJs hit about 2" left and 2" low.
So, I need to decide which to use, and set the sights for that. But the feeding and extracting are going great!
